D'Ambrosio Bakery Acquires Assets of Vilotti-Pisanelli Baking Company

Philadelphia, December 1, 2006—D'Ambrosio Bakery, LLC announced today that the company has acquired certain assets of the Vilotti-Pisanelli Baking Company.  The fold-in acquisition is effective immediately.

This will be a strong strategic alliance between two, long-held family businesses with dynamic reputations for quality products and high service levels in the fresh bakery distribution industry. We have combined 170-years of talent and experience to even better serve our combined customer bases. The Vilotti-Pisanelli product line closely mirrors that of D'Ambrosio; thus the transition of 35% production growth is expected to be seamless in the scheme of material acquisitions.   

D'Ambrosio Bakery, LLC is a leading producer and distributor of specialty Italian style Breads and Rolls. The Company markets and distributes its products throughout the greater Philadelphia marketplace (90-mile radius), primarily through its dedicated network of independently operated route sales associates. The Company has significantly expanded its product offerings to include other cross-dock (purchased) products, which include: commercial white bread, Jewish style specialty breads, NY specialty items (fresh bagels, etc.) and a full array Artisan/Hearth-Baked Breads and Breakfast Sweet products.
